How to Protect a Cayman Tattoo from the Sun

The harsh glare of the sun can easily rob the beauty of even the most glamorous tattoo. UV protection is highly crucial for those who go for such designs, especially in the initial stages of tattoo development. Taking proper care of a Cayman tattoo is in the hands of the individual who chose to get the design, and it is up to them to ensure that it does not fade away easily.

When to Go Out

It is necessary to consider the proper protection of the tattoo and stay away from direct sunlight for at least one month after getting the new design. The use of sunblock is not the appropriate in these initial phases because the skin requires time for proper healing. After a month, however, it is possible to go out after applying a generous coat of an appropriate sunscreen.

Sunscreen Application

Go for a high quality sunscreen and apply it directly to the tattoo to give it proper protection from the sunlight. Ideally, one should reapply every half an hour to make the cover foolproof and completely effective. Reapplication of the sunscreen after excessive sweating and swimming is extremely necessary because such activities wash away the existing sun block layers.

Covering the Area

For people who cannot stay away from the sun for any length of time, covering the area with the tattoo makes sense. This way the sun will not reach the beautiful design and lighten it up. For a small area, you can use bandages as proper cover. However, when the area is large, proper clothing is the way to go. Those who think that they are safe in a car have it all wrong. Fading may easily occur within the vehicle too, especially during the hot sunny days.

Use of Fade Guard

There are commercially developed fade guards available that keep the beauty of tattoos intact. Some of these are in the form of a lotion or even a spray for ease of application. Continued and regular application of such products can keep the tattoo vibrant and beautiful for times to come.

Proper Moisturizing

The use of moisturizing lotion is a necessary part of proper tattoo maintenance. This keeps the area completely rehydrated and fights fading of the design. Those who want to keep their tattoos in the best condition cannot afford to miss regular moisturizing.

The beauty and glamour of a Cayman tattoo can catch the attention of others without any difficulty. Through proper protection from the sun's rays, it is possible to extend its life and get praises from onlookers for years to come. Once the design starts fading, there is nothing to do but consider retouching it repeatedly.
